Miami Dade College is presenting the largest literary gathering called Miami Book Fair. In this gathering, it will be working with The de Groot Foundation to launch the Miami Book Fair/de Groot Prize. This Prize will be given to an outstanding writer of an unpublished novella.
They know how difficult it sometimes is to get published. And in order to help emerging writers get their works to sprout on loamy ground, they have come up with this competition. They want emerging writers who have stories — real stories that tickle the ears and refresh the mind.
The lucky author who wins the Miami Book Fair/de Groot Prize will be awarded a cash prize of $6,000. And it doesn’t end there, he/she will have his/her novella published by Melville House — a reputable printing press. The winner also gets an expense-paid trip to the Miami Book Fair after publication and an opportunity to participate at the fair.
There will be two runners-up who will each receive $2,000, an expense-paid trip to the 2018 Miami Book Fair, and an opportunity to participate at the Fair.
