The Writing Pittsburgh Book Prize wants to reward a book that explores a subject of regional and national significance in Pittsburgh. The writer of such book should be connected in some ways with Pittsburgh. 
The writer whose manuscript end up winning the award will be given a cash prize of $10,000. Not that only, the winner will have his or her work published by CNF’s independent book imprint and In Fact Books (IFB). There will also be a national distribution; and a marketing and publicity campaign for the winner.
Submitted manuscripts will be judged based on quality, strength, interpretation of the “Writing Pittsburgh” theme, and the ability to weave originality with national appeal and readership. Submitted manuscript should be creative nonfiction. 
Submission guidelines:
  • To be eligible for submission, writer should have a connection with Pittsburgh.
  • Only a book-length manuscripts will be accepted.
  • The manuscript should be double-spaced. 
  • Writers should include a cover letter of up to two pages in their submissions.
