Friends of Falun Gong have an ongoing Poetry contest for the adult, colleges students and the youth. The theme of the contest is “Through the Powerful Voice of Poetry Help us Speak Against Tyranny”
The contest, through Poetry, wants to speak up against speech and belief subjugation in modern China. The organizers believe poets all over the world can lend a voice to curb this oppression, by speaking the truth through Poetry. You can learn more about Falun Gong on this link
Submission guidelines:
Writers can be of any age.
There are 3 categories – adult, college students and youth – with different prizes for each.
Writers from anywhere can participate.
Poems should be written in English.
You can submit up to 2 poems.
Each poem must not exceed 50 lines.
The poem should centre on any of these themes:
* Advocate for Falun Gong practitioner’s fundamental human rights
* Expose the crimes against Falun Gong perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party
* Express why citizens of the free world should support Falun Gong’s rights Poem must be the exclusive work of a writer.
Winning poems will be published on FoFG’s website.
First prize winners on each category will have their poems published in the Society of Classic Poets Journal.
Accepted formats are DOC, DOCX and PDF. No specification for font and line spacing.
