Beechmore Book is a website for premium journals and notebooks. Currently, the website is accepting entries for the Beechmore Life Writing Competition 2020. They believe, “writing from your own life takes courage. Many people journal in private, but refining a piece of life writing so that it conveys a snippet of your reality is a real art.” They are willing to support the best works with cash prizes, publication on Beechmore Books website and a notebook.
To enter the contest, send a short piece of your best life writing. This is defined as any creative prose with the essence of truth and a focus on the author’s personal experience. You can submit up to 1000 words for this contest. The first prize winner will receive a cash prize of £200, publication on Beechmore Books website, and a notebook of his or her choice. The second prize winner will receive a cash prize of £100, publication on Beechmore Books website, and a notebook of his or her choice. Other works that did not make it as the 1st or 2nd prize winner but are of a high standard will get a cash prize of £50 each and publication on Beechmore Books website.
Entry guidelines:
- Writers from different parts of the world can enter this competition.
- Writers must be at least 18 in order to enter this competition.
- Only works written in English will be accepted.
- Only one entry is accepted per writer.
- Submitted work must be the writer’s original work.
- Submit only a work that has not been previously published online or in print.
- Simultaneous submission is allowed. However, if the same work is accepted somewhere else before the result of this contest is announced, inform Beechmore Books.
Entries should be sent as an attachment (.doc / .docx / .rtf / .pdf) to [email protected]. An email will be sent to confirm your submission was received.
Results for the competition will be announced on 1st September.
Copyright of any competition entries remains with the author, but Beechmore Books reserves the unrestricted right to publish the winning and runner-up entries, and any subsequently rewarded pieces, on its website and in any related material for PR purposes.
